THE BUILDINGS AT FREEDOMLAND

There were 248 buildings at Freedomland, some were for rides and attaractions others were stores and exhibits.  While Disneyland has it's tradition of naming windows on Main Street for it's dedicated early employees who were part of the original Disneyland, here is a window in Disneyland for Van France.

Freedomland also saluted certain  people in a different way. Pic tured below is a building in little old New York with signage for Freedomland's creator C.V. Wood Jr.

Another building with signage  was located in the southwest Tuscon area and paid tribute to the park's owner William Zeckendorf, it was a mercantile and dry goods store.  It actually paid tribute to  William Zeckendorf's  father who had a store like this in Arizona, in the 1800's !

More on Freedomland's buildings to come
Van, was the creator of the training program for employees at Disneyland and how to be great hosts for visitors.  The training program he created became known as the Disney University.  He left Disneyland to work for C.V. Wood's Marco Engineering, the designers of Freedomland and created the same host program for Freedomland, with the handbook and training entitled,"Be a Friendly Freedomlander"  Van, and I became friends and was always a fun person to speak with, he loved Freedomland, and is one of the few who was invited back to work for Disneyland after having left for Freedomland.
